OUTSTANDING RAZOR INDEED, Original Case Not So Much... Early 1905 Silver Plate Gillette Standard Single Ring Three Piece Razor with Original Clasp Case and Blade Bank. There is absolutely no wear to the "Triple" silver plated surfaces of the razor other than the end of razor where you grasp to tighten, Lustrous and Gleaming! The Original case is leather over wood with much wear evident to the leather surfaces, the interior of the case is a deep purple velvet material with very little wear, the Blade Bank is nickel plated, all Gillette Logos on the interior of the case, bottom of case and blade bank are strong. The latch is missing the section that is attached to the lid, as shown. The razor is serial number 359740 which after some research reveals that this particular razor was manufactured in 1905 making this Gillette Single Ring 116 years old. There are some folks who are confused with the date on the razor Nov. 15 1904 that is a patent date...make no mistake the Single Ring was produced from 1904-1921 There are no dings, dents, cracks or bent teeth whatsoever, you will have a difficult time locating a Gillette Single Ring any Finer! The weight of the razor is 1.82 ounces and is 3 1/4" in length.  Blade wrapper is empty, no blade. *** A Point of Interest...
