  • Condition: BEAUTIFUL condition. Lots of rubs to paint from years of handling and prayer. Chaplet has darkening of metal, and beads are also slightly worn from prayer.

    Description

    Both of these pieces - the box and the chaplet, came to me together, so I am sending them on, together.  The figural of St Joseph is solid, made from a really high quality, smooth plastic, with painted details.  The paint is worn from lots of handling, through the years.  The box has no damage or issues, and it opens and closes tightly.  The box is marked on the bottom with the manufacturers name, CMPC (Consolidated Molded Products Corp) and their trademark, with Made in USA.
    I did a little research, and what I found was the company was destroyed in 1971 from fire.
    The company started in 1919; In the 1940s and 1950s they made all kinds of commercial molded plastics, and also made some wonderful Christian Catholic pieces, as well.
    Collectors really like their pieces because of their quality, and because they were made in the USA.  Additionally, they are fairly easy to date, as the company was destroyed in 1971.  So the pieces won't be, at the most, any older than that.
