    Description

This celluloid record cleaner is from the early 1900s.
The company, Denton Cottier & Daniels, was located in Buffalo at 32 Court Street when this brush was manufactured. It is 3.5" diameter and 3/4" thick. It is in good condition with some loss of brush material. The Company began In 1827 when a man named James D. Sheppard, Denton, Cottier, & Daniels founder, brought Western New York it's first piano to Buffalo up the Erie Canal on a mule drawn boat. The old Eagle Tavern on Main Street was the first location for Sheppard to display and sell his instruments. The brush was manufactured by the Philadelphia Badge Company.
