    Flag of the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of the USSR, dated 1985.
    This is Guaranteed 100% ORIGINAL Soviet naval flag made in 1985 exclusively for the use by the Soviet Navy, not a civilian item, souvenir, recent reissue, or replica!
    The flag is in synthetic silk – the kind used for naval reviews and other ceremonial occasions. Its HUGE size, approx. 6 ¾ ' x 4 1/4’, makes it suitable for a capital ship such as heavy cruiser. This flag is similar to the flag of the Chief of Staff of the Navy but with two blue stripes at the bottom instead of one. The canvas hoist sleeve shows the 1985 date of manufacture.
    In outstanding, excellent condition showing only storage age. There are no tears, holes, or stains of any kind, just a couple of tiny snags that can be found only at close inspection. The colors are strong.
    The very sight of this flag probably caused almost all Soviet ship commanders to panic if they were not already expecting a visit from the Chief of General Staff. At all other times, it was stored in a special safe on the ship just to make sure it would be available at the moment's notice.
