    Description

For your consideration is a very rare vintage, double-sided MOE SPORT SHOPS tennis racket cover. This is a piece of Ann Arbor and University of Michigan (U of M) history!
Moe Sport Shop was opened in 1915 at 711 N. University Ave., in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and sold sporting goods and uniforms. Founder George Moe had a breakthrough in 1934 when he added University of Michigan clothing to his lineup at stores in Ann Arbor.
When Moe died in 1939 at the age of 52, his widow, Genevieve, ran the business until she sold it to Harold S. Trick in 1941. By that time, the store had another location at 902 S. State St.
This Moe Sport Shops tennis racket cover has seen good use throughout the years. As shown in the photos, it has wear, wrinkles, and places where the stitching has come loose in the seam. It appears to be made of a thin canvas with a tie at the bottom of the cover. It measures 9” x 14 1/2”.
In addition to advertising the shop name, this double-sided cover also has Harold S. Trick’s name, “Everything For The Athlete”, Expert Racket Stringing, and the Victor V tennis player logo with Strings That Win below it. This information is printed exactly the same on both sides.
Please study the photos as they provide the best description of this item. Shipped via USPS Priority Mail.
