    PRIEST'S LAST RITES BOX- LARGE ANTIQUE OAK WOOD DOVETAIL BOX with BRASS CROSS ON FRONT AND BRASS CORNERS TOP
    This is an antique large oak wooden box that I believe was used as a priest's last rites box. Dovetailed cornered box has a latch on the front side and a brass cross attached on the top in the middle. The corners of the top also have ornate brass pieces attached. The inside has a fabric and brass hooks on one side to hold items. The fabric inside has some rips and damage from use. Otherwise the box is in good condition overall for its age. Please see pictures for design and condition detail. Measures 11.5" long by 10 and 1/4" wide by 4.5" thick when closed. Weighs almost 2.5 lbs. Strong, sturdy well-made piece. Wonderful and ornate large Christian wooden box would be a great find for display in your collection. Don't miss it.
