For your consideration: One of Kay Steindorf’s unique cookie jars.  A very talented ceramist, Ms. Steindorf hand built each jar, starting with building the round base, using one of the oldest ceramic techniques in the coiling method. Then using the base she would sculpt and add things like the arms and other body detailing. Then she would make the oval shaped head and face that made up the lid. In this particular jar the embellishments that she overlaid on the basic jar such as the pie, apron and towel. Because each jar is hand built there are no two jars that are exactly alike.
